Binan Market at Night
I've been to many public markets in the Philippines but Binan Market is the MOA of Palengkes. It is bagsakan central for all kinds of local fruits and vegetables. Restaurants and other wholesale buyers flock here at night.

Have you been to Divisoria, maybe China Town in Manila? It's a town that resembles a mall where product and service sections are instead streets for eyeglasses, cameras, beading, nylon canopies (lona), electrical components, lighting, etc. Now picture the same setup, but all of it is absolutely public market produce: Veggies, Fruits, Grains, Poultry, Fish, Beef, Pork, and everything in between. You will find the typical fruit stand but also stores that stock and sell them by the crate, sack, and "kaing" (large open bamboo basket).
There are multiple mini supermarkets selling just vegetables. There are fresh open meat shops, but also air-conditioned and refrigerated outlets.
If you prefer groceries, they have the chain groceries and independent supermarkets there too.
Hungry? The usual fast food joints are there, as well as unique kiosks of all kinds of foodstuffs and "kakanins." The place is also quite historical. There are streets lined with ancestral (Spanish-era) structures and homes. The plaza is surrounded by buildings that were built and designed to mimic an old Spanish "Plaza Mayor," complete with security in themed uniforms (guardya sibil).
So if you're just in Metro Manila or the Calabarzon area and enjoy the vibe of public markets and Philippine culture, this is a must-visit.
